Sent Off My Taxes

April 15, 2005 – 3:11 pm

I just sent off my taxes via certified mail, and yes, if you are counting, both returns (federal and state) were postmarked at about five minutes before 3pm PDT. And, while this may be considered obscene procrastination, I still had three hours to burn (the post office on campus has extended hours until 6pm today because of people like myself). I must say, though, that the Tax Cut software from H&R Block is quite a nice little package. Two years of using it with minimal headache has left me quite satisfied.

  2. Ha! I’ve got you beat! I e-filed this morning, but had to mail in some stuff on my CA taxes. Mailed it off right at 5pm today.

I also am rather satisfied with TaxCut. Although, there are some quirks that I really didn’t like. For instance, when printing things out it often doesn’t give you the option of which printer to use. I had to manually change my default printer in Windows in order to use different printers in TaxCut. And there were also a few other annoying quirks too. But on the whole it seems to do a good job.
