My Candidacy Date Is Set
April 18, 2005 – 11:05 pmThe candidacy exam for mechanical engineering students is divided into two parts: one part to test the student’s knowledge of the course material and one part to test the student’s research competence. I took the coursework component in the fall, and I have until the end of this term (Friday, May 27) to take the research component.
I heard back from my three committee members today, and the date is set: Thursday, May 19, from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM. If I pass this puppy, I’m officially a Ph.D. candidate. No pressure.
