Woo-Hah! Got You All in Check
November 26, 2005 – 11:48 pmI have been meaning to write this note for some time, but for whatever reason I haven’t done it until now. I bought the album Statement by the band Nonpoint a year or so ago, and I have been listening to it rather often ever since. In fact, of all the albums I own, I have listened to this one the most without getting tired of it.
The last song on the album is named Tribute, and in some sense it is a (very) hard rock cover of Busta Rhymes’ Woo-Hah! Got You All in Check. The two songs only share a chorus; the verses are different. And there are probably references to other rap songs of which I am oblivious.
I tried to find an excerpt of the lyrics that I could reproduce here on my blog, but the whole song is pretty heavily laced with expletives, as one would expect from a semi-cover of a Busta Rhymes piece.
Regardless, it is an awesome track, and Amazon.com has used copies of the album on sale for $1.50. If you are in the market for a hard rock album, I recommend you take a look at Statement.
