My 2006 NCAA Tournament Bracket
March 14, 2006 – 1:15 pmI probably spent more time than I should have with this, but I successfully recreated my 2006 NCAA men’s college basketball tournament bracket in HTML form. I am posting it now, so that we can all have a good laugh when we see how badly my predictions play out as the tournament progresses.
First round upsets? I have several. I have Texas A&M (12) beating Syracuse (5), Southern Illinois (11) beating West Virginia (6), NC State (10) beating California (7), San Diego State (11) beating Indiana (6), Alabama (10) beating Marquette (7), Utah State (12) beating Washington (5), Seton Hall (10) beating Wichita State (7), Wisconsin (9) beating Arizona (8), and Montana (12) beating Nevada (5). That’s right, I’ve called 9 of the 32 first round matchups to be upsets. What does that mean? There won’t be any upsets.
My Final Four are LSU, UCLA, Connecticut, and Wisconsin. Yes, I have LSU beating Duke and UCLA beating Memphis. Those two number ones are out. Connecticut and Villanova are just too strong for me to not have them in the Final Four. The real championship game will be Connecticut-Villanova, because I think the winner of that game will dismiss LSU or UCLA without too much trouble.
Let the games begin!

A&M beating Syracuse? No digg.

Hey, I have to justify Texas having lost to A&M a little while back. An A&M win would make that loss look a little bit better.
I’m hoping the Aggies can take advantage of a Syracuse team that has been living on the brink for a week or more now. Maybe Syracuse is tired. That’s what I’m hoping, at least.
