Half My Final Four Is Right
March 25, 2006 – 11:31 pmOn a personal level, I’m disappointed the Longhorns lost today. I watched most of the game, and it was frustrating to know we were so close to the Final Four and didn’t make it. But, I used my head, and not my heart, to create my bracket, and thus my bracket reflects the two teams that gained entry to the Final Four today: LSU and UCLA.
The Longhorns tend to choke in big games, with two examples being the 31 point loss to Duke earlier this season and the loss to Kansas in the Big 12 title game. I just had a feeling that we wouldn’t be able to beat the top tier teams this season, and that turned out to be right. LSU is one hell of a basketball team. I have them going to the championship game and losing to UConn. I’m still confident with that pick.
There is still a chance for me to have picked all the Final Four teams correct. I need Connecticut to beat George Mason, and I need Villanova to beat Florida. That’s not asking too much. We’ll see how it goes.
