Usher Is In The Mix

Ariele and I have just finished up our trial subscription to Blockbuster Online, and we’ve decided to continue to the paid subscription. Our trial offer allowed us to have three DVDs at any given time, but we’re changing that to the two DVD option now that the free trial is up.

This subscription has given us a chance to watch a few movies we would likely otherwise not have seen. One example is the movie we watched tonight: In The Mix. Usher is the star of this film about a bodyguard who is protecting a mob boss’s daughter.

If you checked out that link I just gave you to IMDB’s In The Mix page, you will see that this film garnered a 1.9 out of 10 star ranking. That’s good for the eighth worst movie reviewed on the IMDB. And you know what? I really can’t argue with that. This movie was awful. Not awful enough to not finish, nor was it awful enough for me to get pissed off that I was watching it, but it was awful enough that I knew from a few minutes in that this was going to be in the running for the title of “worst movie I have ever seen”.

Fortunately, that title still resides with Drop Dead Fred. I don’t remember much of Drop Dead Fred because the one time I saw it I must have been something like 10 years old. But I remember at the time thinking that this was the worst thing I had ever seen on a television screen (yes, I must have watched it on some Saturday afternoon when I was bored to tears). I think that memory will keep Drop Dead Fred firmly planted for some time as my worst movie ever, but In The Mix has definitely earned a spot in that discussion.
